DOWNLOAD THE NEWSLETTER HERE with updated information on transport from Spain.
COVID-19 restrictions on consumers, particularly in Europe and the United States, have led to a dramatic drop in demand for container space and have forced ocean carriers to cancel hundreds of trips.
Carriers have canceled 11% of round trips and container space and availability has been reduced by 50% worldwide, resulting in disruption to container positioning and lack of equipment and space to accommodate loads between Europe and Far East.
It is difficult to predict how these guidelines will be developed in the coming weeks and months, as several countries have retained all commercial containers that have entered and left the country during these long periods of closure.
Carriers are expected to apply equipment repositioning charges and high season surcharges, when commercially viable, during the second quarter of 2020 and beyond.
We are in permanent contact with public organizations (Port authorities, Customs, …) and logistics agents to have updated information in real time and share it with you.
To the date all our equipment is fully operational in telework, and our terminals and warehouses are operating normally.
