ErhardtProjects sponsored the Spanish Business Council’s Annual Gala Dinner in the UAE. The event was chaired by Iñigo de Palacio, Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, and Guillermo Cobelo, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UAE.
With 300 attendees, the event held last night at the Melia Desert Palm in Dubai was attended by Igor Muñiz, CEO of Erhardt Projects, and Manish Javeri, Operations & Chartering Manager of our subsidiary in Abu Dhabi.

That is where the Spanish Business Council (SBC) in the United Arab Emirates positioned Spain during the Gala Dinner held on Spain’s National Day at the Dubai World Expo 2020. This great event takes on even more significance if one keeps in mind that it was held in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the UAE, FEDECOM, the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
It was attended by 300 people including prominent local and Spanish authorities, business representatives of top companies, members of the SBC, ambassadors, members of the Spanish Community in the UAE, and also those responsible for the Dubai World Expo 2020.
The Burj Khalifa was the setting for the SBC Gala Dinner in Dubai (SBC).
The event was chaired by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism of Spain, Reyes Maroto, and was also attended by the Secretary of State for Trade, Xiana Méndez, by the president of the Spanish Business Council, Guillermo Cobelo Fernández, by the Ambassador of Spain to the UAE, Íñigo de Palacio España, by the president of FEDECOM, Eduardo Barrachina, by the president of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, Ignacio Osborne, and by the president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bomet.
Guillermo Cobelo opened the evening by thanking guests and sponsors of the Gala for their presence. “I would like to express my gratitude to all SBC members who, during this time, which is still full of challenges and uncertainties, have shown generosity and commitment to our chamber,” he said.
During the event, the FEDECOM and ‘Friends of Marca España’ awards were presented.
Juan Lladó, president of Técnicas Reunidas, received the FEDECOM award and expressed his satisfaction for this “recognition of the international experience and exporting capacity of a company that has incorporated multiple companies to develop new projects”.
The Leading Brands of Spain Forum also recognized outstanding Emirati authorities and institutions that have worked actively to strengthen bilateral agreements between Spain and the United Arab Emirates over the last year. These entities were recognized in the category ‘Friends of the Spain Brand in the UAE’.
Finally, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism closed the ceremony and reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the UAE and Spain.
